Age of Stihl 034

Could anyone give me an approximate age range of an 034 Super AV. I don't have the sn. Thanks

Started making them 1984, introduced the super in 1993.

The 034 Super was made from 1987 to 1993. It overlapped the 034 production of 1984 to 1993.

The Super was available longer in Canada but it's unclear (to me) if that was newer production or older new inventory.


Based on the same saw, the 036 was made 1991 to 1996, which then became the 036-Pro.

Great saw. Sure it vibrates more then average of todays saws and the air filter fills up with saw dust rather quick. Remove the filter cover and lightly tap out the sawdust when fueling up (about 1 minute ) and give it a good cleaning at the end of the day. The most profitable saw I have owned in my firewood business was the 034. I liked it best with 20 in. 3/8 pitch chain. Few situations where it felt less then very adequate for the job.Was very sorry after I sold it and replaced it with another new saw.

Whoops, mixed up the introduced (1987) and the discontinued (1993) dates on the super.:stupid:

A friend has the super, it's a lot like my 036 nice saw if you don't get into big stuff
