Alarming your Truck

I just did a dollar inventory of the hand tools and equipment that are kept in the trucks. It would be a really bad day if I got ripped off. I was thinking about an alarm install. Any one done this?

I installed a simple door pin switch on my old bucket that had a keyed on off switch. Worked fine. All the components are simple to find. Pin switch on all toolboxes with the ground wires connected to them power switch put positive 12v to siren and when toolboxes are opened them the circuit is completed, simple and cheap. Put the siren in a secure place so it can't be tampered with. Less than $100
