Alert Jred saws on eBay not as advertised

I bought 3 saws, a 2166 and 2 2250s.... They are advertised as new they are NOT, factory refurbs. Melted R in the bottom of the fuel tank. Seller lied said they are new, never used, it's actually in the item title, "not a refurb" so be aware.

Not aware of a 2265.
Did the seller really lie, do they even know what a refurbished saw is.
Send them back and be done with it.
There's been quite a few post in the trading Post, you know the place where guys advertise saws that "they" are selling, not saws that they may want to buy that are for sale elsewhere such as Craigslist, eBay, or any of the other online sellers/apps, also not where we give reviews of saws we've bought.
This belongs in the chainsaw forum just as the others do.
You just pushed actual site members for sale post down, it doesn't take long before many others are doing this which makes it very difficult to sell a saw in the TP.
Mods could this be moved to the proper forum @pioneerguy600

Just got home to check and both of the 2255s I got are clearly not new, not in oem packaging and R melted into bottom. So to answer your question @chipper1 Yes, he did lie, it's obvious these are refurbished saws.

Are we certain the burned R stands for refurbished?

It makes sense however after close inspection theses saws don't look refurbised.

I have not pulled the muffler or inspected the internals.

Could the R stand for RED IN JONSERED? Maybe Retailer ? Idfk

I suppose it could stand for something else but new Jonsereds come in boxes and don't have an R melted it them.

Mine doesn’t have are “r” melted into the tank. I can see no evidence that my saw has ever ran either. It is spotlessly clean and no wear marks in the usually places.

Maybe r for return. Maybe jonsered did this to avoid warrantee work on wholesale saws. Or something. But given what I have seen I'm saying these are new.

I'd assume you bought it from the listings posted in this thread. If all else on the saw is good you're still money ahead if you have to fix something but still if it's broken its not new.

I got two of them and they both have a r on the tank. I pulled the top end on one of them to do the transfer covers and it looks like it's only been test started, no carbon at all and the plug just had a touch of whiteness. One of them did come with a little damage but the seller made it right. The seller told me that they are brand new and come straight from Husqvarna.

I don't care either, It was deal, $429 for one and the other I used the ebay coupon and got a partial refund.
