It's not possible to cover all the Husqvarna benefuts and swaps in a post, it is possible to search for the info.
A good place to start might be a 350/346xp build.
Is there any stihl clamshell that can take a pro p&c? With an easily available adaptor?
In the Stihl world it would be like putting an 026 on an 025....
I was thinking that this thread wouldn't become that but it never fails. I have just finished a 064 for a guy at work and it's time to back to my projects. I was leaning toward a 290 with a 390 topend and TS400 piston or dolling up a 028 into the best condition possible (OCD). I started this thread looking for ideas in the husky lineup, not to start an war. So anybody from the all orange camp have any suggests go ahead and chime in. Also when you list a saw note what Stihl saw it is comparable to (in size) remember i'm Husqvarna challenged.Another Range War, I'm staying out of it. I love my Stihls, but I also enjoy running my nephew's Huskys.
Hey devil dog, I ran a 272XP and we had a bunch of clutch problems but when it did work it was fast really FAST.I have a husky 272XP that I inherited from my Dad, and it is one tough SOB, 3 bars multiple chains and 2 air filters and still going strong.
I recently finished my project 288 and have not had much of a chance to run it, this fall when they open the Forest I will though
The reason I love the Husky 272Xp so much, and why I am in the process of building another is the grunt and the stable way it cuts..
It just keeps cutting and cutting, I do not mod any of my saws in any way!
Sir,Hey devil dog, I ran a 272XP and we had a bunch of clutch problems but when it did work it was fast really FAST.
Ha you called me sir. No need for that, I was an enlisted jar head.Sir,
The only problem I have ever had is the muffler bracket broke, and I had to replace it.
Never had any clutch problems (knock on wood).
I keep the crankshaft greased though.
272 - 372 the first digit show a new model??? same cc right??? Husqvarna challenged!I thought my 272 was fast, (coming from running a homelite 410) then I ran a 372 and was like oh..........
Cool.272 = 72 cc 52 mm bore dual ported. 372 = 70.5 cc 50mm bore quad port. The quad port takes it, in the book 272 is 5.2 HP and 372 is 5.3.
And 372 is spring av as opposed to rubber on the 272.
Love my 372 and 550xp. Put them both to good use today.
I tell ya, it's hard to wear long pants in Florida in the summer! I grew up in north FL, and sold firewood as a teen. Yes heat is needed down there in winter.Oh dang. You really do wear shorts.. Part of me kinda assumed it might of been a picture taken after work or something.
What are sock covers.. Is this something I should Google..lol.
Y'all don't cut firewood in the summer? If you don't collect & prep it in the summer how do you have it for the winter..? I know we'll cut it into length for our selves or HO's whenever the opportunity arises or the logs aren't good enough for the saw mill or if we don't fell like getting the log truck.. Personally, I'd rather it all gone on a truck, less clean up. Wait, do y'all Floridians even need that much heat in the winter?
