I've got a am855h altec and love it use the material handler and love the over center but looking at a aa600 for a second lift. I've not operated it yet how are they for tree work? Anything to look at on these? This one is a only a 50ft which is not tall enough for a primary lift but I'll still have the am855

I just sold my 95 f-800 with an AA 600. The truck or boom never let me down. I have a freightliner Fl-70 with a LRV 55 now. I miss the two man bucket sometimes. The ford is quite a bit lighter on yards. I have to use plywood on yards most of the time with the new truck. The AA600 is a slower moving boom too. And being non over center kinda is a downfall.

I'm with you on the plywood my 855 with material handler is extremely heavy 33k gvwr truck do you know the gvwr on the fl70?

It is also 33,000 gvwr. It was an ex line truck. I noticed on the inside of the door it had a scaled weight of 27,500 loaded
. It had enough compartments in it that it must have been a fully stocked hardware store for powerlinesmen. It has a capstan winch that probably weighs a lot. Plus I noticed a sticker in the cab about idle time without the pto disengaged after so long you can get a fine? It came from Pennsylvania.
