I recently bought some aluminum pads for my spurs. I was on them in the tree for about 3 hours and they began to rub in my shins. They became very uncomfortable. Anyone else had this trouble. I thought these things were the best in comfort. I'm very disappointed. I may go back to my steel reinforced leather pads with add-on pads. Never had pain with this latter system. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Depends on your body and everyone is built differently. They rubbed my shins too so I had to wear high tops. I found that lowering the pads helped and put the contact area on a less curved part of my shin. I switched over to the Buckingham velcro steel insert pads last year and love them although they're big $$$$.

The alum pads didnt fit the contour of my shins either, so i sold them and got a pair of the buckingham steel insert velcro pads and I love them.

I have had mine for 5 years, no issues, where did you get them? I got my first pair from Wesspur, and I have the Sherrill ones in my aerial rescue kit. Both fit me great.

No problems with mine. I did notice the stiff pads put more preasure on your knees so I wear them lower then my old leather L or T pads.

Never had a problem with my geckos, had the same pair for five years and still just as comfortable as the first day I got them.
