Thought you might enjoy some pictures. I decided to take off and look for those purple forest products.
I drove up to a trailhead to hike into where I'd seen lots of blossoms and green berries. Found this at the trailhead.

I picked up the area and hauled it into the FS dumpster.
Here's a view of the smoke drifting into the Cispus Valley from the fire near Mt. Adams.

The Used Dog, who is back in service, and I hiked on in and found that there were no huckleberries where there had been in July. They had been picked. We turned around and went back near our start and began to look in a plantation. There were berries, but not many. I believe there was a bear in the patch too, because the Used Dog went ballistic, which I've only seen him do around bears or tall scary men in cowboy hats, and started to go after it. I called him back and he obeyed. I did not hear any crashing of a bear, but I did work my way that way and found some smashed berries and trampled grass.
