Anyone catch it? It had Mike helping a small tree service company in California remove a Bird of Paradise weed and some palms. Looked like they were a little more safety conscious than those Kentucky loggers on there about a month back. Still they had Mike blocking down a palm with a 200T by the end of the day...which seemed a little scary even though he wasn't that high up and there were no targets around. What did you all think?

No targets around? hat about the cameraman that was 5" away from the butt of the log as it landed?

This show, I have determined, is full of the worst of the worst as far as bad/dirty companies go.

I think you're right. Makes me wonder about the validity of some of his other shows. Maybe all across America there are industries just totally pissed off that the worst of their profession was chosen to represent them.

yep

I agree. That tree service company was scary! Maybe if you had youre high school diploma you were not considered for employment.

I've been watching Dirty Jobs since it came out. Initially I thought that mike rowe was "beafing up" his antics for the benefit of the viewer. Over time I realized that nearly all the jobs he's participated in would violate in some way OSHA rules. And if not OSHA, then the rules of common sense. He's darn lucky that he hasn't maimed himself...the show better have a disclaimer:
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME, call Mike for help :(

Dirty Jobs Is By Far One Of the Best shows On Television..........

It is by Far the companies they visit choice....

I would not by any means let that man film me.........

and be a safe and as cautious as they are.........

Id be screamin Headache and lettin it Fly.........

lol candy ass.....Hed be runnin..........

LOL a drunkin Tribute To Mike Rowe.........A GitrDun....

(this message does not condone or promote the unsafe manner in witch is conducted by anyone in reference to TV shows, stupid acts of stupidity, randoms acts of violence, utter disregard of not bein a dumba$$,and all thats associated With "Bein Ate Up Wit Da DumBass" !!)

He is pretty cavalier about his safety. I love dirty jobs, just cause of Mike's dry sense of humor. I guess those camera guys knew what they were doing... but that last log was a little scary. Mike might need to take a chainsaw safety course or spend some time around a seasoned operator. Its all good as long as everybody goes home in one piece and no property is damaged right?

mikes OK

Mike Rowe needs a producer who cares about human longevity.

The show succeeds on Mike’s abilities to poke fun at himself, respect what others do and make us all feel better about our own plight.

By no means are all the operations on the show Mickey Mouse.

Maybe only a third. (If you exclude the fact that a two day to two week training would be appropriate).

The chain saw arborist safety thing is part of a global conspiracy to kill and maim thousands by giving them saws. For heavens sake, we've got Presidents running saws without chaps.

The program should do some Paramedic segments where they treat the people Mike just worked with. A spin-off series would be typical of that industry.

Well said.

i HATE IT

I find him disrespectfull towards another mans job saying oh gross and stuff like that. I think he is a little jack@ss that was lucky enough to land a tv job.... I work with computers for a living and by no means is it physically hard or dirty and I certinly dont look down on others that do jobs like that.... I hope next episode a tree falls on him and ends him.....

Your ping requests timing out today or what?:angry2: :angry2:

I personally fail to see how one man's opinon on any given job, is disrespectful. If I spent my day with my arm elbow deep in a cow's ass pelvic checking, someone commenting: "Hey, thats gross" would *not* be any worse than an angry heifer and a tight sphincter. In fact, I would cherish anyone making light of the situation.

But hey, thats just me. I've done some 'Dirty Jobs' and yes, things are gross. Some, more than others. Disrespectful, nope. Pointing out the obvious, YOU BET!

Man nek vt can t believe your sour attitude toward Mike Rowe . Think it might have some to do with the fact that you dont have a dirty job . This is the way guys act on these type jobs . If the job you are doing sucks you say it sucks . If a job is gross you say its gross . I think Mike Rowe is showing these guys respect by coming out on there job site doing what ever they say dangerous or not and doing it . Even though I wish he would pick company with a little more PPE and safety knowledge . At least for the fact that people dont think everyone doing a dirty job is as crazy as some of these guys . Oh and were is Mike Rowe salary posted at just thought it might be interesting to see?

Ohh come on GUYS mike makes us LAUGH :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

On the contrary I think Mike has a lot of respect and admiration for those that do the "dirty jobs" of the world. He has the kind of personality that people love or hate though. I think a lot of people don't realize hwo dangerous a chainsaw is for instance unless they have used one a lot...not until you've been cut in the shop just maintaining the saw without the motor running and seen how much damage that ONE cutter can do, then multiply by 100 and you're close.... I can't preach about PPE, I don't wear chaps...do usually wear ear protection, sometimes my glasses...I could do better. I do respect the equipment, and am very careful with it.

... and don't lose sight of the fact that these guys INVITED him to their jobs just so they can show him (and us) how bad their job sucks. Whyinell NOT say that their job sucks and is as gross as the workers tell him to say it is? Jeeze.
