Another On Bites The Dust (stihl)

WELL, MY DAD JUST BROUGHT OVER HIS STIHL 025..ITS TOAST NOT SURE WHAT WENT ON IT BUT THERE IS METAL ON TOP OF THE PISTON.. HE SAID IT STARTED TO PEAK BUT WASN'T SURE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT THEN IT STARTED TO MAKE AN AWFUL RACKET....IT'S NOT SEIZED BUT LIKE I SAID THERE WAS SOME METAL ON TOP OF THE PISTON. I'M THINKING THAT THE LOWER END GAVE OUT NOT SURE UNTIL WE TEAR IT COMPLETELY DOWN.
DOES ANYONE HAVE A DIAGNOSIS OR HAS ANYONE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THERE 025 ????

I had a problem like that with my 011 AV. I just gave up on it an threw the sucker out. Since you are from malone, you heard of the Meuhl family? Just interested.

Let's not start knocking a whole line or model of saw because 1 is broken.
We need to diagnose before we blame.
The peaking out statement gives a clue. My first guess, a bad fuel or pulse line.
Why don't operators shut the saw down when they encounter a problem. I don't know how many operators tell me, "It hasn't idled down for a week, now it won't start."
Tear it down and check it out, then you will KNOW why the saw failed.
