Another Partner 5000 plus

Well another 5000 plus found its new home. Man I just love these saws from 23 years ago. They run right with the 5100S, even with the 1000K less rpm,s.
The pics are from the sellers place, when it was being sold.

An older member here, Tony Marks, who I haven't seen in awhile, used to sing the praises of this saw all the time. He loved the 028 Stihl, but always said the Partner 5000 was a saw ahead of its time. I've always wanted to try one, but the opportunity never arose.

The 5000 is sort of still with us, as the P540 (53.2 cc engine).
I believe they are made in Italy.

Partner 540, but I believe it is/was(?) made at the earlier European McC factory, in Italy.....

The 5x00-model number also lives again in the new series of Partner labeled saws. Anybody know if these are Poulan-made?

And the 5000 this thread is about, is that a "real" Partner or a Poulan?

The REAL Partner 5000 that started this post was made in 1984.
Sure dont look like the overseas poulan clones.
Being I have 3 5000's on hand and 1 500, plus 2 more 5000's in the mail making their journey to me. I must say that I wish I would have known about these fast cutting 49cc saws along time ago. The only saw i have found that is comparable stock is the dolmar 5100S.

I was running the 028 when the 5000 came out. The 028, as great a saw as it was was no match for the 5000, but my Stihl blood would not allow me to get one. A good 5000 is right up there with an average 254 Husky.
