Part 2.

In the wood attempt this morning.

Made 1 and 1/3 cut. It tossed the chain in the second cut, thank God! That's when I noticed the oil tank had backed off leaning out the motor.

No damage appears to have been done, but I sure felt a lump in my throat!!!

Off to work.

EDIT: All back together. No damage done other than the chain where it caught the clutch cover. We'll try again tomorrow...

I have a feeling that the video does not do the sound any justice whatsoever. Cant wait to see the video in wood, looks like it going to be a mean saw once its done:msp_thumbup:.

It doesn't Brian. This is McCulloch turned up to 11. The throttle response is wicked. I'll have to remember to roll into it to keep the flywheel from backing off..

Awesome!! I have been wanting to do a 101 for awhile now. This is only making me want to do it faster LOL. Think I will stick with a 700 series though:msp_biggrin:. Looks awesome so far!!

Before and after videos uploading now.

Bob, that's manic. My single has been on the shelf for over an hour while I upload stuff and I still have the heebie-jeebies! This is the first saw to actually put a dose of fear into me. That and my right hand hurts like &%$#!!! You'll see why...

This is the after video. It is a small success. What a monster. I get wound up 10 minutes before I start it and here it is over an hour since I shut it off and I'm still jittery. You saw racers have my respect! It honestly scares me and it doesn't even have a good tune in it or fast chain yet.

I went back and looked at other videos of saws in that same log. They're all doing it in 11.5sec (372 with Jungle muffler Stihl RSC, Homie 2000, with skip .404) or so with a good chain. The second cut was 5.96 sec on my watch. This is Carlton round grind skip. I'm going to get Stihl square full comp for it...

Here's what happened before that video. It thought about editing it, but screw it. Watch me fight like a moron with it :D! My right hand is sincerely killing me! Oh, and when that cover shook loose, boy did the cylinder head get HOT!!! The video above I checked after the cut and cool down and it had heat in it, but not terrible. In this vid, she built some heat fast.

Look at this clown...

I love it.
That saw's throttle sounds wickedly touchy......kinda like a horny 18 year old boy with a hot naked chic sitting on either side of him......just on the edge of OUTTA CONTROL!!

one of the reasons I don't wear gloves to start up a hi-compression saw. I almost broke my fingers too many times. We've all been there/done that before. great saw, thanks for sharing the vids.....

Thanks, I forego my usual nitrile dipped gloves on this and go with the leathers on purpose. I've had the bare-handed Mac-biteback before. Talk about pain. The combo of the haeavy leathers and keeping the cord between my index and middle fingers means I have a weak grip on it. If it bites, my index finger will give and let the handle go. Hard on one finger, but easier on the rest of my hand. I'm sore, couldn't crush a cotton ball right now, but better than if I'd gone one more finger over and left my whole hand in the chips :taped:.

Don't feel bad, I can't start mine. It's real chore.
Thats why i put the snowmobile D handle on my
saw. Takes alot of the pain away. You did well
Charles. Sounds strong in the second vid and
i'm sure it will get better.

Thanks Lee. I'm anxious to see yours and Brad's.

The Mac carbs get a bad rap and I'm not sure it's deserved. This BDC was surprisingly easy to work with once I understood it and it's really just a supersize flatback.

I haven't had too many hassles with the BDC its like any other carb its mind of matter ................ and the good news is fingers grow back ................

McBob.
