Yeah, pisselms are what we call them here in OK too. I knew they were a nonnative species. Wasn't sure which though.
 
Shush! We don't dare call them that. They are wonderful trees, as they have been supporting tree services in the midwest for many years.

Some comparison reference:

American elm
(notice the "flat topped" bark NOT present in photo's above)

Siberian elm

An often overlooked possibility in the elm family: Slippery elm
These guys do better in the wood/natural setting than do the siberians.

and lets not forget these elms: Rock elm
Not so common as the others.


LOOK AT THE BUDS! COMPARE THE PICTURES!
