have a lot of white pine logs laying around and on sunny days they sure are loud. I'd like to bring a bunch of these grubs to a party I'm going to in a couple of weeks as a side dish or dessert of some type and thought you folks might have some ideas....An underlying theme of the party is bacon so if I can come up with a delicious bacon & grub recipe that would be a bonus.

maybe a carmel covered apple rolled in grubs?

pan seared bacon encrusted grubs?

Any delicious ideas???

You are on to something here, maybe a replacement for the bacon shortage?:confused2:

I ate one on a bet one time. really wasn't bad. Had kind of a smoky, peppery taste. That was a big flathead borer, maybe different ones have different flavor?
I'e go with simple and traditional, bacon beans and grubbys . Think beanys and weineys.

Well.....Sadly we got to the party too late to partake in most of the food and ran out of time to do any grub cooking. But the good news is there was an ice luge....yup! the grubs slid down the ice luge into waiting mouths riding on a pour of your choice....When I first approached the luge with my container of grubs people were grossed out.....after about 30 seconds though everyone wanted to try it....It was a very successful expirament!:blob2:
