They guy that I buy my chain from usually cuts and sells Carlton but recently stocked Laser chain. Now I was skeptical at first about using it cause I never heard of it, but after I tried some of it I am very impressed. I am currently running Laser single racker chain on both my Poulan 3400s (one has a 18in bar and the other one has a 20in bar). Here is a video of me cutting with that single racker chain. Very fast and stays sharp for a while. Anyone have any problems with it? Seems to be much cheaper that Oregon or Carlton. I think I am gonna switch to this stuff from now on.

Yea i've used them...found an amish hardware store not far from me that carries them, they seem like good chains, at least as good as oregon plus the are cheaper

I have used a lot of Laser chain. It is sold by Cutter's Choice. Their current price for 3/8 chisel is $348 per 100'. I think it is as good or better than Oregon. Not sure who makes it but it is of USA manufacture. I think Laser is their "house brand".

Laser is just Carlton rebranded for Cutters Choice

We have no branding of cutters choice here, but the small print on laser chain boxes we get, says Manufactured by Blount[Europe] so that is Oregon/Carlton perent company Only critisism I have of it is the stretch when new. We don`t use it much as it is only marginaly cheaper than Oregon here & the Oregon range is wider + more stockists

"It's the chain brake's fault the chain is loose"

I'm going to need help getting off the floor I'm laughing so hard!

Yah, I've used it. Used to be Zip-Penn. Not bad chain. Better than the old Zip stuff that was softer steel. Now use Bailey's chain, Woodland Pro 30RC. But there's nothing wrong with the Laser.

I've used Laser chain it's decent. Have some old stock on the spool now. If I can pick it up cheap enough I really like it.:hmm3grin2orange:

not sure who actually makes their chain, but i'm quite sure it's distributed through laser sales out of erie p.a., they also sell a brand called pro-kut, i've used the laser chain with no complaints......................

Laser brand chain is rebadged Carlton. I've been quite satisfied using it..reasonably priced, easily sharpened, no stretch issues etc. For those N of the border it's available in Canada at 2 Cutter's Choice locations.
They have bars similar to the Oregon style replacement nose and a few choices in Tsumura line.

Pro-kut brand chain is another line they carry however I believe it's chinese and I'm not ready to go there. :taped:
