The loop number is the four digit cone then a space then another batch of numbers which seemed to either be retail package or roll then the last batch of numbers is the number of drive links.

You posted above a bunch of numbers and letters and definitions above. I don't see C for comfort or low vibration so don't distress if you can't fine pro.

So are you asking if the 3693 and 3695 are new or old as in use the same preset tie straps as the 3690 or the ones with wider bushings? find them at the bottom of page 61 but 63 of the pdf..

What do you want exactly or sort of exactly.

What I want to know exactly is this: Stihl has 3 pages of their chains in the 2024 downloadable catalog - pages 61,62,63. They show the 4-digit code for various pitches and gauges for each chain. Are all of these chains in the 24 catalog the slightly narrower chain epo mentioned in his posts above?

I realize that practically speaking, the speed difference between an old and new version of any of Stihl's chains will not make any difference to me. However, I like to know what I am buying, and I've met two Stihl salespeople at my local outdoor equipment shop who gave me misinformation. I brought my old Rollomatic E Standard bar in and asked for a new one. I was given a Stihl Light 04 bar. The catalog shows Stihl is transitioning to the 04 bar w/ new graphics. Not knowing this, I asked what the difference was between the old and new. I was told by the kid that the 04 was much lighter than my E standard bar. An older salesman backed him up. When I got home I weighed both on a reasonably accurate kitchen scale and the difference was a few grams (we are talking about an 18" bar). I prefer to sidestep this kind of ignorance and know upfront what I'm buying.

BTW, I prefer the old white sthil bars to the new fuzzy graphics. My preference only. YMMV

Hmmm, I've always thought Stihl chains were top quality whether it be the green or yellow.
Haven't had the stretch issues.

I really like the super chain on my MS 250 18" bar.

I see that the lighter bars transitions to the light p04.

18" in Universal mount (UM) is 72 drive links like brand x. I filled in some un needed holes not sure if I had to.

Stihl chain is generally considered to be a premium quality chain. Stretching is basically the result of wear on the pins that hold the links together. Well, the plates and links wear too where the pins go through them. This wear is the result of lack of oil or abuse of the chain, as well as general use. If a chain is drastically overheated, it will expand, and some call this stretching too.
