anyone built a nice chainsaw rack for a flat bed?

Love the new flatbed on my truck but securing smaller stuff is a bit of a chore and doesn't feel all that secure

All my short bed trucks only fit the silly little tool boxes behind the wheels, we searched for anything to fit in front and struck out.
Old bed got rusted and busted, the flat bed is great for pallets of fertilizer or rock salt and I found a nice rack to lock the BR600 on there but I would really like to be able to lock 4-6 saws to the bed in a theft proof manner.

Check Rawson-Koenig, they make professional grade tool boxes. I have a couple of the under bed ones that I store chains, dogs, etc. in on my rollback.

I would really like to be able to lock 4-6 saws to the bed in a theft proof manner.

Did you consider a roof rack? Seems all the tree services and hot shots use something like that...a locking cage type thing that is on top of the truck/van. You could put some Yakima type rails up, then bolt an aluminum chest toolbox to it. Weatherproof and lockable.

Or, you could rig up something like this. Compact and keeps the flatbed clear.

Rollback is a 7.3, flatbed is a 6.9. Both are 5 speeds with 2 speed rears.

Dave, you could mount a few bar scabbards to your rack. That would leave your bed open. Not my picture.

No, a 1964 Studebaker Daytona convertible. Only a little over 700 were built, this one is now in Australia undergoing restoration. You can see the NOS front fenders and rear quarter panels in the car, there was also new upholstery as well. I also added a couple of boxes of Studebaker club magazines as well as a Datsun head I found for the new owner.

This is a 1965 Corvair convertible (which is for sale by the way).

Somebody posted something earlier this year. Something like a 2 X 10 on edge, with slots cut into it for the bars to pass through, and feet to keep the board standing on edge. Theirs was for use in a pick up as I recall, but you could anchor the 2X to your flat bed using stake pockets, or bolts, or . . .

Like the fords seen above... been watching CL for an affordable dump trailer or dump bed truck to fetch wood.

But every time I find one I kinda like, I remember that the tree service brings logs strait to my log yard for me!
