When i was much younger i worked on the freight docks in ohio at 25 below, but i
have been in texas for 30 years now, there is no way in hell i would do it again LOL..

Bob...

Ive ice fished when it was -70 without a Ice house or anything. I was a little chilled:laughn:

last year about this time i recall workin about those temps, id go climb get sweaty and freeze, i did that a few days in a row, to get a days work done, so i guess what it comes down to is if you need to pay your bills or not

I guess that's what it really boils down to eh, how important money is. Also when it's this cold machinery starts givin up on ya and things break or just take a good long while to warm up.

I know you can get frost bite in under two min at this temp so I don't know what -70 would do for you other than kill ya. I don't like fish THAT much!

well i have FAD as well as CAD so thats why i was out there. And yes thats nothing to mess with, It just dosent occur to me that on these Survival Shows they dont protray the wilderness as what it actuall is, for example The number on rule in the outdoors/Wilderness is, NEVER take any unnessacary risks. And thats what their constantly doing. If they didnt have 30 people watching these guys with a camera and a bandaid they would be Dead period. So yeah, be safe and have fun and No i LOVE the cold eiser to work in.

Not sure if you were in West Mass last year but -28ºC is like -18ºF I dont remember it ever getting that cold

Years ago I had frostbite on my right ring finger. My finger is still there but it gets cold easy now. Finger turned all black and got hard. It was messed up. The older I get the less I like working in the cold. I will do it to a point, but single digits and less I am not into it. Cant get enough done either. Everybody standing around the chipper exhaust warming there hands. Its not much of issue for me cuz..its like this...I made my money when it was nice out. I would do more in the cold if my guys were more into it but they dont like it so....OOKKKK. I am staying in.

I thought canadians were supposed to be used to the cold now stop whinning and just do it :D

last winter we had 2 days where the high was -20F with wind chill down to -45 to -50 and I was out working both days. Then during snowmageddon 2011 here in chicago I was out in that storm for over 12 hours 2 feet of snow 50 mph winds and thunder snow one hellova day

This year I can't wimp out for the cold... wind on the other hand will keep me in. Today the wind kept me on the ground picking up logs. Tomorrow wind AND cold will keep me doing books, but Wednesday the cold will keep me on the ground for a clearing job... better to make some progress than none.

Call me a big sissy but there is no way I'm going out in that kind of cold... Heck, I don't even want to live anywhere where it gets that cold! ;)

Ya no thanks. I may be Canadian but I'm also a buck forty so I freeze up faster than a puddle! I tough it out best I can but no -40 -50 garbage for this guy.

It's the windchill that kills ya. I'll take a -30c day with no wind, over a windy -15c day to go out cutting. We get some nasty wind off of lake Superior here some days.

Oh Wow. -70, that is awesome!! How did you measure it? Our thermometers only go down to maybe -40. I have seen it that cool, but -70 that is different.
