I'm looking for a shop that pumps up saws. I have checked into walkers saw shop and they only port and polish the head and do muffler work. I am looking to buy a new MS880 or a 3120 and would like to get the most out of it and still use it for work. Higher rpm's and more hp are the keys to happiness. Thanks

Dean seems like a nice guy but I can`t say anything about him, good, bad, or indifferent since I`ve never done business with him. Google Washington Hot Saws or search the threads for his testimonials. I believe that Dean`s expertise is with Stihl saws, but I could be mistaken.

You could also try this guy, EHP , he`s an expert with the 3120. I`ve also run a really strong 088 that he built for Hunter. I`ve dealt extensively with Ed and recommend him with no reservations.

I`d stay away from Fish, he`s had a big head ever since he became a Stihl "Polished Aluminum" level technician

I am studying to be "Gold Electroplate" this December. The test is kind of hard, and has a lot of big words.

I will second Deans work. I have done some VERY good business with him. I refer everyone I know to him wether it is for parts or for full blown modded saws. he is a Stihl specialist but wont shy away from Husky work. Go with him and you wont be dissapointed. Hus prices are VERY fair also!! His name on here is Klickitatsacket

Hi BostonBull,

I didn`t realize that you are also a modified saw fan, what did you have Dean heat up for you?

I`m always curious to hear what results guys are getting from their modded saws and what they did to achieve any gains they might see.

I have used Dean for many parts orders. I had him do a modded 026. The first saw he put pictures up here of. I ran short on cash and had him sell it. I am now sending him a few 200ts and seeing what he can do for them. I cant wait. next out to him might be my 038 Mag II.

Thanks for the reply BostonBull.

You might consider getting an ms440 if you`re going to the expense of modifying it, only because it`s a snappier saw to start with, and isn`t the 038 a little portly for it`s performance?

The 038 would probably bring a decent buck on eBay. They have their following.

I would recommend EHP also. He did a woods mod on my 088. Check out the Doaktown thread in his forum to see a video of my 088 running against alcohol race saws. My 088 runs around 12,000 rpm in the cut with a ten pin gear. I use the saw in big hardwood and for racing.
