Arborist 101: advice to folks that want to climb

I'm liking this thread. Some of y'all's stories make for some good reading. Seems that outside of line clearance, there aren't too many "formally" trained? A lot of mentored with learning new things on your own, and a few more totally on their own (with books and the internet).

Given the standard advice for wannabes, I figured I was in a tiny majority.
