I have a gorgeous 12 year old Autunm Blaze Maple that continues to grow 3+ feet a year (maybe more) but the last 3 years it starts to turn red very very early July - YET, keeps it's leaves until very late October, longer then most trees in Wisconsin.
We have had some free non-expert tree people look at it and they have found nothing obviously wrong. We put a tree ring (correctly) around the tree this year thinking that might "help" (if it needs help?). It's not new growth.
Opinions? Comments? it's in pretty solid clay This was taken June 22, last week it was all green. We are just north of Madison Wisconsin
