I'm quickly seeing how addictive milling is and I after making just a little lumber I am learning all about everything I've read for years like get the log on a tilt, sharpen chains often, fuel between ever cut, etc. I also am learning that no matter what you are putting out for oil, you really need an auxiliary oil tank for the long cuts. Currently I'm running a Granberg 30" with a 394 and 32" Oregon bar, Woodland Pro / Carlton Ripping chain. I am getting lots of chain stretch which I'm accrediting to the lack of oil on the cutting side of the bar due to the slinging as it rounds the tip. I don't mind spending $50 for a Granberg aux oiler but hate to if I can avoid it. I have lots of oak milling coming up and really want to set myself up for success and not tear up any more equipment than I have to and right now my new Oregon bar is showing wear already.
Curious if anyone could post pictures of your home brew oilers, how you mount them, etc to help us newbies out. I know Mike was talking about building something the other day as he gets into milling to.
