Hello Everyone,
Just popping in to this neat site to ask a quick question. We are brand new members as of tonight :).

Our Location: Middleboro, MA.
We purchased a half-price 'Picea Baby Blue' Spruce for $9 yesterday from Home Depot that we wish to plant in our yard in the Spring. We plan on keeping it in our 3-season porch until that time, which gets about an hour of sunlight daily. We plan to water it as needed about every 2-4 weeks. Will this approach work? Other recommendations? Baby Blue.jpgShould we get it into the ground now? Help!

Jamie & Suzi H.

I have always planted conifers in the winter. You shouldn't keep it in a warm environment. Trees aren't houseplants. On the other hand, if it's been kept inside for the Christmas season, it does need some time getting acclimated. Say outdoors during daylight for a few days, then increase the number of hours to 12 for a few days, then put it outside.

Thank you for the response, Beat CJ. Much appreciated. That's just what we'll do then.
