Bailey's New 2004 Catalog

I just received the new 2004 Bailey's catalog and am amazed how expensive Bailey's has gotten! A 32" 0.63 Cannon bar $119.95, a 50' spencer tape 26.95, a college chopping axe 349.95. These prices are outrageous!! Bill Bailey must be trying to pay for that big new log house he built, or is planning to take all of his employees back to Las Vegas! I can't blame a guy for trying to make a living but his prices Suck! Bailey's buys in bulk! The small shops don't have the buying power Bailey's does, so keep your eye out for better prices or support your local shop if there prices are close. Madsen's always seems to have better prices on most things. Bailey's would never give much for a contest contribution either! They always talk a good game about the industry and supporting it but do they really? Bill must be thinking about retiring, but not on my hard earned dollar! Dennis

they say they got a place in Toronto but i think it is just a warehouse for them to ship stuff to and up here the dealers beat there price most times
now on the axes , i can see that because the dollar from where they are made has come up alot against the usa dollar like over 35% up . up here the axes have gone up alot to but my good buddy Cecil keeps me going now if i could only use them the proper way

ehp, my boy bought a college axe last summer for 229.00 from Bailey's, and it was a good axe! 35% is about 309.00 so Bailey's is still adding on. A cannon bar for 120.00, even though I like the bar's I won't buy it from Bailey's. How's the weather Ed, cold up there! Dennis

Dennis it is colder than hell here right now and i hope it warms up soon . I have seen it before but not that often but the last two days diesel fuel will not run throgh the filters , the wax they put in the fuel has turned to a jelly type stuff . Even the dogs look outside and there is no way in hell they are going outside for very long
baileys is making good money on axes about 50 % profit or more
why not get ahold of those guys from down under and make them a deal of some axes because i know what they pay for them and it is very little compared to what we are paying
Brad most of the times beings over 25 heads to sell
i just looked outside and it is 38 below 0 with a 25 miles to 30 mile a hour wind, not sure what that is with the wind chill

Dennis, are Cannon and woodsman pro the same bar? Haven't seen cannon bars in the catalog for a while but i do see woodsman pro. They are pricey. Bailey's does have great prices on most everything when compared to any dealer in my area. maybe your dealers move more volume than the dealers close to me. I don't make my own chains and I usually order from Bailey's however a while back I had to have a 72 drive link for a job right then. I went to the local guy and paid $26.00. That is why I like Bailey's. Lucky

Dennis I have noticed the price jump also from this very past summer to the spring addition. When you own one saw it's just plain an easy to go down the road to support your dealer. It may cost a little more but I can always get free coffee and donuts.

Lucky, Yes the woodsman pro bar is a cannon bar. Get yourself a Madsens catalog, and I'm sure there are some other places that are as cheap if not cheaper than Bailey's. Bailey's new prices are in my opinion way to high for being the so-called world's largest mail order woodsman supplies company. Dennis

RupeGoldburg, a couple of years ago when I was in Westchester, NY. I stopped by Israel Ed's Saw and Mow and had coffee with him and his mechanic Arty Feinstein. Great guys but there prices were a little high too, but if you buy a saw from him he'll treat you good! Dennis

The Woodsman Pro bars are made by Cannon, but they're not a Cannon bar in terms of quality. I've purchased about 20 or so Woodsman Pro bars in the last 8 years or so, starting in '96 when they first offered them, and they wear out fast. Cannon bars back then were excellent but have since gone downhill.

I noticed that the rebadged Solo saws are not in the new Bailley's catalog.

Bar oil acted like glue here, but now warmer with above zero heatwave...

I haven't got the new 2004 issue yet. I have got two or three orders in the last two weeks, they should have sent a new catalog along Too bad prices area up. Great deals arethe reason I shopped there. What's your guys opinion on the woodsman pro v.s. oregon power match v.s. windsor bars that
bailey's sells? Is WP really worth twice the price? have been using oregon p match with satisfactory results so far. Am I missing out on something? Lucky

We is wicked stupid in my town. The state just took the school sytem into receivership because 60% of the kids can't pass the standardized tests. I have to send my kids to Catholic school, because at least they teach something.

Education as a whole is way undervalued in this country. It more important to drive a "Hemi" and have a widescreen TV. It's odd how people in our country can barely read, write and speak their native tongue, yet the "idiots" from other countries can speak other languages besides their own. Sadaam could speak and understand English, I wonder how much Arabic George W. can understand?
