Found a good deal on a bandit 2150 stump grinder but it's only 2 wheel drive,
I'm a little worried about it get stuck so just wondering if I should spend more money and try to find a 4 wheel drive?

thanks Bob,
what engine does your grinder have?the one im looking at has the 27hp kohler,
also does your grinder have the rear wheels that hydraulically extend out?

thanks,
Shaun

I rented a 2150 several times while waiting on my Carlton to be built at the factory. The 2150 was pretty worn out, but it did a good job, just slow on big stumps. The rental unit had a 30 something? HP B&S engine on it. I think the 27 would be fine, IF, you keep good sharp teeth on the cutter wheel.
I never found a need for 4x4, but we have pretty flat ground around here.

I have the 38hp big block kohler on mine, had the 27hp on my vermeer 252 and the
difference is like night and day. i have hyd steering and it will turn on a dime, makes
a big diff on the really large stumps that u have to set up on more than once, wheels
do not extend but it would really be unecessary with this grinder, with sharp teeth i
can knock out a 30 in oak stump in 20 minutes, would have taken an hour with the 252.

Took a while to learn how to climb the chips because of the limited chip containment
area, but no problem now, would suggest getting something with bigger engine if
u can afford it..

Bob...
