was out in the garage tinkering and just happened to glace up at the Tide jug sitting on the dryer , and thought WOW that would make a great bar oil dispenser , I will have to give it a try when it's empty

I really like the 80/90w bottle for pouring into the saw. PITA to fill the 80/90w bottle without using a funnel though. That tide jug could be filled once and work good for topping off a smaller bottle quite a few times. Good idea!

I use the 1 qt. gear lube containters too. Makes it easy to pull some out of the saw if I overfill it.
To fill them I only open a hole in the side of the foil seal the width of a pen-knife and pour/squeeze it out in the other container. Helps keep the mess down this way.

Great ideas guys!

Once again...filling the bar oil this weekend, I overfilled it...idiot!

Ironically enough I have a pile of the quart gear lube bottles from the quad laying around...never even crossed my mind to use them! Guess I always hoped that I would go out cutting and end up going through almost a gallon of bar oil...

Laundry detergent bottles

I have been using the laundry detergent bottles for bar oil for quite some time. Tree guy that I help out was intrigued by this idea. I mostly use the 64 oz range of bottles. Long inner spout makes it easy to hit the mark and the cap is darn near leak proof. After having a gallon of bar oil roll around the back of the truck (spilling the contents), I needed something a little more secure. Been using the same bottle for better than a year. Red Tide bottles are used for summer oil, blue Cheer bottles are used for winter (diluted) oil.

I use that same tang!! I also use on old syrup bottle. I still chuckle everytime I fill up the oil with the syrup bottle, cuz, it does LOOK just like syrup. Are you thinking what I am thinking? I am sure that my wife would kick my backside but good if I put that bottle in the cupboard!! he he he
