I am new to this forum, and certainly not a professional saw user, but I have really enjoyed reading the posts. I use to cut, split, and deliver about 75-80 cords of firewood partime in my younger days, and now have a partime lawn care business. I have a husky 65 which I bought in 1979 and it is still a great running saw. I also have a husky 50 which I got a great deal on used, and I just bought a husky 359.

Back to my original question.....both the 65 and the 359 leak bar oil on the floor when sitting in an upright position, the 50 doesn't. Is this normal?, and if not what's the fix. Not sure where it is leaking from.

Sorry to bother all you pros with such a mundane question.....but I really respect your expertise. By the way...I have owned a stihl also....and Husqvarna rocks!!!! Had to add that to stir the pot...lol.

from what i have seen thats pretty much the nor with huskys, i have a 346xp and its my first husky but every one that i have ever used seems to have this problem.

Ryan,

Does your 346 leak? None of mine do, but they are all xp saws. My father's 55 leaks like crazy, you either have to drain it or leave it in a case to control the oil.

Chainsaws leaking bar oil while sitting is pretty normal. I'd say at least half of them do it, and it certianly is not isolated to certain brands. Many models of new saws leak bar oil.

I just had a Dolmar that made a heck of a puddle. The guy said it leaked from when it was new.

I just go to Wal Mart and get the nearly flat cookie sheets to set them on.
