Yes, the lot I am on now has 10,000 plus cords to cut. I just got a 7900. I am going to run a 18" on it. Trees are up to 36". Around here it is common practice to cut trees over double bar length. I did one 48" with a 15" bar by cutting thru the notch.

Howdy Timber and Folks,

I agree with timber on standardizing bar mounts. As a newb trying to figure which bar mount will work and deciphering the bar munbers over dail-up modem is a pain. I use the acres site but I don't think he lists them all and I have found some numbers there that don't match up with some numbers on some of the manufactures sites.

I will say this though, from what I have seen Cannon has the mounts down to about four or five different ones, my hats off to them, nearest thing to standardization as I have seen.

Now the other day I took the bar off my 510 echo, the dealer had converted it from .325 to 3/8 back when the original owner had it. Out of curiousity I looked at the bar nuber it was 180GDDD096 9.5 mm slot, the mount on that saw is a K041 8.2mm slot. I have used it for two years like that and it works fine.

I would like to get some of the GB bar spacers though, anyone know where to get them on-line?

Also does anyone have a master bar mount crossrefrence chart that has pictures and slot measurments? I figure it has to be doccumented somewhere how else could they build them if they did not have a reference? How do the dealers figure it out for customers?

Yea I'm still scratching my head on these bars mounts.

Have a good evening.

That would make sense here if we worked with alot of 50-60 year old gums, Would this be right for what you find there work wise?
Or would they be sold with bigger bars to reflect that they are bigger saws, (why would you average joe think that a 66 was needed if he saw both the 026 and 66 with 20 inch bars).

Yes not many you cant put on the ground with a 25" I carry a 32" and chain for the rest.

There are a few mistakes there, but it is a good place to start getting info.......

Howdy Ray Benson,

Good links, goning to rep you for that. That brown and wiser should go on the reference sticky. I like that site. You guys are the best.

Howdy Troll,

The acres site is pretty good and I look at it often. The man put some time in on it and I personaaly would like to thank him. A valuable tool for sure.

Folks,
I have just spent the day at three hospitals. They life flighted my dear Mom to Pitssburgh this morning. My brother who lives with her now (him and his family just moved in two weeks ago to take care of her) and some good doctors and nurses saved her life and I'm so happy I still have her as she is so precious to me.

Good night folks I'm slap beat.
