I know its an old post, but I have the same thing going on with a 066. Someone must have swapped a case half down the road at some point and now there is a misalignment between the case halves by the cylinder mounting surface. I'm thinking of using a milling machine to get this all true/square. Wasn't there another member on here that did this on a MS460 and he posted pics???

I was going to suggest a bore light. I picked up one for cleaning my gun barrels and bought a second one later for electrical work. That flex shaft sure comes in handy in some weird situations. It's the same thing that Greenlee makes. Not sure what the Greenlee one costs but you can get a decent bore light for $5-$10 at Walmart over by the gun cleaning kits. And for what for what you would be using it for you for really need a long flexible shaft. But a longer one wouldn't hurt. It would simply make it more useful in sure. The one I got at Walmart has like a 3" flex shaft on it. But your right, this light will certainly do exactly what he needs. I only mentioned the bore light because it's probably cheaper than the one by Greenlee. I don't know for sure, but going by the price of the electrical tools I have purchased that where manufactured by them. They make good tools, so I can understand the price. I haven't had one break yet. Anyway, simply an option. Good luck. I have a Stihl 046, a Husky 136LE, a Husky 141LE, and a Poulan wild thing in my shop and all giving me a headache. I'm only working on the Poulan for my brother. The Stihl and the 2 husky's are mine. And I have a half dozen assorted Poulans along with a single McCulloch that are all in my shop to be repaired and sold. Both the husky's have new ignition coils and one has a new carb and neither want to fire. But they will. One way or the other. I was checking out this thread since in about to split the Wild thing crank case and replace the piston where it overheated and he kept running it rather than having it looked at. Now the piston looks like it was drug then the road behind my truck.
