Ive had an offer of a used bashlin saddle,
I'm getting a good price on it (at least for australia!) but havent had any experience with their products. Is anybody climbing on one of these? It looks like its entirely made of leather, but Im climbing (like I guess most people are) on a synthetic harness. It looks comfortable enough, I dont really need it and didnt get a chance to climb in it. But it's going cheap and who can resist a new toy? Is this one I ought to snap up?

I have climbed with one of the leather ones many years ago. The one I used was more of a pole climbing belt. Not nearly as comfortable or as mobile as a good tree saddle.

Come to think of it, I was cleaning out the shop a couple of months back and found an old webbing belt that I used at one point years ago. I think it is a Bashlin as well. Again, it's just a belt. No butt sling or leg loops. It'll get you there but definitely not in comfort.
