I think that my Altec Whisper Chipper needs bearings in the rotor housing. How difficult is this to do? I realize that the flywheel is ver heavy, other than that it does not look that hard?

I'm about to do the same thing to my woodchuck drum chipper and have been told that it's not hard if you have the tools.....

Flywheel removal

I am most concerned about removal of the flywheel. Is it drilled for a hook so that I can attach a hoist? I know it weighs about 300+ lbs and I wanted to know if anyone has done this and how they did it.

I am told that once the wheel is off and the hubs are removed that the bearings are in a plate that bolts to the rotor housing.

Anyone??

Have the same questions I’m looking at picking up a 96 with the Ford 300 but it has teeth missing on the flywheel according to seller how hard of a job is this I’ve done a several motor swaps in small four-cylinder vehicles and one super duty 6.8 L v10
