Hey everyone, this is my first post on the site. I've been in the biz for about 7 years now and was wanting to become a certified arborist. I have looked on the ISA web page and all I could find were dates for the test. Is the any study material or classes to take. Do i need to become a certified tree worker first? Just wanted to see if someone could steer me in the right direction. Thanks

In addition to ATH i would join the ISA, it will expire Dec. 31 so you may want to wait but when it comes to buying stuff and arbor age magazine and other perks its worth it.

I am in the western chapter and they have offered weekend seminars for extra study for the C.A. test

Last time I had to Reup with the ISA, I was two Mounths ahead of their cut off for a Year. If you join in the last Mounths of a year they wiil give the rest of that year and the hole next year

Thanks for the info. guys. will keep in touch and let you know how it goes.

There will be a list for your region about Tree Identification.

And in general, that's one area that you will want to really get a grasp on for your local area. Whatever you can find - study it.

Of course, you may already know you local trees. If so, that's a nice head start.
