This was a general cleanup job, On the large hedge we took only large deadwood out. Wound up taking 21 yds of chips out of this little area. I know the tree looks pretty gutted, but like I said deadwood only. These pics are as we wrapped up the first day. We came back and did a little more clean up and some low deadwood out of the hedge to the left.

What a tangled mess! Looks like a groundman nightmare. Looks like nice cleanup job on tree, wonder if you sold the client cables and rods to keep center tree from splitting open? It would be a shame after all that work to have tree fail / split open. Just my opinion of course from chair a few thousand miles away.:)

That fork does look like a defect; more serious after loss of damping effect lower limbs gave. they also gave shade and constant renourishing of the rootzone; now 17 yds. of OM the trees needed are gone somewhere else.

Great view of neighbor's house now; would owner pay for new shrubs/small trees to fill in? See http://www.treesaregood.com/treecare/trees_turf.asp
for some of the problems that start when turf moves into the tree zone.

Mowing is low mtc which is what most want, but values delivered by associated plantings would make the higher mtc more than worth it. Not being critical here, just what-ifs for those who are :Eye: for more work.

Total tree care is not that hard to sell. Roots and associates are asimportant to the tree as the branches are. Caring for them may not be as easy and profitable as removing limbs, but every bit as important. It also builds up return business.:)

We logged about 160 man hours on this customers property over the past two weeks. They are building a walking path around this back area. It's schedulded to run directly beneath this tree, thus they want all hazardous dead removed. The other scrub trees we removed, which were surrounding, where mostly undesirable varieties. Yes it coes open up a view of the neighbors, however, if you saw the size of this property, you would know that it still can't be seen from up by the house. the direction the pics were shot from, were from an adjacent angle. I'm not sure what the future landscaping plans are for this area besides the path. But, im pretty sure they'll do something nice. They've spent almost 200,000 on landscaping, lighting, and tree work in just the past year since they purchased the place. So far from last summer up until now we've billed out almost 20,000 to them ourselves.

Don'tcha just  that kind of client?:D

O and what about the fork--is it defective, or does it just look that way in the picture?
