It was brought up a few weeks back about what makes good bandages. I said Kotex and duct tape and I was serious.I think she thought I wasn't. Put some in your kit for the new guy ya got. That eye wash is a hot selling item too. Just can't seem to keep enough on hand for everybody.

Hey there, no I knew you weren't joking...it certainly is a cheaper alternative to 'brand name' bandages...and let's face it, they are designed for blood. Also the packaging is waterproof to a degree so they will last longer in your kit on your belt that gets wet from time to time. Its definitely a good idea!

I was interested in bandages for the small cuts that are sweaty and bleed a lot, not the big ass chainsaw diggers...so I got a bit sarcastic...hence the miscommunication...its all good!

BTW...my hubby has been mistaken for Paul Newman more than once...the best was two tall swedish blondes who were convinced he was, even got their picture taken with him...when they asked him if he was PN, he said...'well my salad dressings are doing well'...amd left it at that! bad boy!

Another kotex use

Allow me to sidetrack this thread for just a minute.

Afriend of mine that raced street stocks at the local oval track, went out one sat. eve with a new motor we were breaking in .He ran the same combo I did[pont 400 .060 over].Well one lousy design of the old pontiacs is the rear seal is of a cut to fit rope seal .It is half science/half art ,and another half luck to get those dam things just perfect.

After some hot laps ,and a few practices on the track we discovered the rear seal was leaking at a pretty good drip.
This is not allowed. Cars can not drop any fluids on the track, however slight of a leak it may be .You will get black flagged.

There was not enough time to change this seal at the track.

The problem was remedied a follows:
1 handfull of rags to wipe up oil
1 can of brake clean sprayed on oil pan and bottom bell housing
2 kotexes and
1/2 roll of duct tape to hold kotexes in place

Kotex was quite heavy at the end of race, but no oil made it to the ground.
He was able to compete instead of watching from the stands that night.
