I never liked the idea of trying to pass a hitch through a crotch. Too easy to get hung up. Just buy a couple of those ABR hi Vee savers. One long one short. They are only like $60 and way nicer then the buckingham strap ones.

Thanks chevy . Are those good to tie in on a single spar though? I dont necisarrily have to create a tie in point from the ground but just want something thats versitle and efficient. Surely there is a favorite out there for rigging your climb line in the canopy and a single spar

I never use a friction saver on spars but, in sure you could just add a hitch cord and biner to a long one to make it adjustable quick for spars.

ART rope guide, over a fork or just choke a stem, you can use it as an escape line on spikes. Works with an eye with a retrieval ball to get it out from the ground. Has a pulley so almost frictionless, only down side is it's not easy to set from the ground but that's minor to me

I'm gonna definitely second the rope guide. But I'd recommend trying something else first just so you know how much better the rope guide is.

It's like butter on butter.

Fimblsavr. Simple as it gets, retrievable, tough as hell. Or just make one?
