I am in the process of fixing 3 Stihls...i am looking for suggestions on where to get the parts i need at a good price without sacraficing quality. Any help would be appreciated. Below i will list the saws and parts i need.
1---028 WB: points delete or someone told me a coil from an MS 290 will bolt right on...whatever is cheaper.
2---024 AVS: piston & cyl w/gasket, wrist pin w/clips, and bearing, carb rebuild kit, flywheel, either points delete or if you can get a coil upgrade...dont know if they do.
3---032 AV: rear handle AV mount (long bolt that acts as AV and holds the handle on)
All are obviously older saws...the 024 is mine. Its my first complete tear down and put back together. Got the saw for free because the piston was scored. It still ran but decided it would be a good saw to learn with. So far so good. I am far from a pro. I know the basics. Any suggestions and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. The other 2 saws i am fixing for friends. I am not new to chainsaws, just new to major repairs/rebuilds. I have never once asked a question on AS and not had it 100% answered and learned something new. This website is by far the best tool i have ever found, especially for someone who has a lot to learn yet. I cant believe the collaborative knowledge of the members here. Anyway, thanks in advance.
