I've used my sawzall (Milwaukee) quite a bit in the past years pruning my orchard.
I used up all my wood blades last summer salvaging a PT deck I got for free, so was shopping blades today. In the past I've used 9" nail embedded wood blades with ~ 5-7 TPI. While shopping today I noticed they make pruning specific blades that are much coarser , ~ 3 TPI.
My questions are: 1) what do others use and will the coarse pruning blades give a rough cut compared to the finer wood blades?
2) Preferred length? For me 6" is too short and a 12" gets in the way.
3) Are carbide tipped worth the extra $$$?
As a note I have a great selection of pruning tools including a bunch hand saws of various types/sizes. The sawzall speeds things up. If I have major cutting/damage repairs to do, little top handle Stihl chainsaws.
