Just wondering what people feel is the best straight blade handsaw? I do mostly pruning! I'm thinking of trying the Silky Gomtaro. I'm trying to avoid spending money on something that doesn't work.

I don't have a straight blade but I do have a Silky (Sugoi) and will confirm that they make great tools. :msp_thumbup:

I have a gomtaro, i'm a little iffy on it. It feels flimsy at first, but does cut nice, i used a stihl pruning saw before i bought the silky. I honestly like the stihl better at this point.

That said, i haven't given the gomtaro much of a fair chance. I bought it for 1 particular job a few months back, and i've used it to cut 2 branches out of my way since.

You can't go wrong with Milwaukee. I've heard Gomtaro isn't bad, but they're pretty expensive. You can pick up a Milwaukee *** Saw for pretty cheap on Amazon and it will likely do you the same amount of good that a Gomtaro will. Shark Corp and Stanley are pretty good too.
