All you have to do is :
1. cut it down
2. move the wood to the back of property and cut it for firewood logs (18 inches)
3. grind the stump

The chips can be dumped on the property. The wires aren't really in the way. The thing, while large, is not quite a monster and looks like it can be roped down with no extraneous BS. Everything has to be roped though as there is no DZ, the trunk can be dropped.

Hight 80' ?

Remove tree/haul all wood/chips $1200

Cut all wood to 18" rounds and stack on prop + $450

Grind stump/haul off extra grinding $150

Its hard to say from pictures... but I'd say 1500 to 1800.

That looks like a good bucket tree right there...the majority of it (if not all) of it looks like I could get it with the 60 footer.

Yes, about 80 maybe just under. Its about 4 foot dia at the breast, the stump is huge. I think you are a little under but if you say so. I think the pics make it look smaller than it is, maybe I just suck.

Yeah the pics don't do justice. I don't think 3 guys could do this in one day. Its not a hard rig to put on the ground. Maybe I should go back with a tape measure and take som more pics cause that stump just keeps going.

There I go getting all flippant again - I forgot the stump! So I would have to say 1500 and sub the stump for another 300. Total 1800. Is this just a grind and go or do you have to clean and topsoil and seed??

Our 8018 will eat a 5' stump in 20 min. and about 1 hr. to clean up the mess. We charge $150 per hr. for stumps with a 1 hr. min

The bucket would help to speed things up. I doubt soil and seed. I was thinking 2800. There is good amount of wood to lower after the limbs.

get the top out, park a dump under the tree and lower as much wood into as you can. drive it out back, dump it and cut it up. Might save you some time.

I would try and sell stump grinding and seeding if I was you, it looks like when you get lower you could bomb some 4 or 5 footers and just topsoil when you do the stump.

Do those annoying little lights come up?? that could be a pain in the butt if not.

thats about right. its honestly more work to cut up the tree in 18" rounds and move to back yard then it is to get that tree delimbed and ready to drop the spar. If we do a cut and leave we dont move the wood. "stays where it lays" if we have to transport the wood. it is going up in the air with grapple loader in 14 foot log lengths and in truck, which is 20xtimes faster than that stacking nonsense.

I would probably sell them an extra $500 for the wood haul and give them a "free" cord of split firewood.

We would be in and out, loaded, stump grind in under 3hrs, and I'd do the whole thing for $1600 and on to the next one. +$500 if they want a stacked split cord of wood in back yard. combine another 1-2jobs on that day at hit 4k+ qouta for the day.

crew of 4 men, bucket truck, chipper, grapple, 1 log truck, one chip truck, stump grinder. someone without the big toys it is hard for the little man to compete, as oldirty says and he is right. you will never get $2800 for that one tree if they call any of the big co.'s in your area such as Rick's Tree Service, etc.

This is why I keep buying what I can.

I agree with the wood thing, I would rather take it out of there than cut it and move it - assuming its not too far.

I'd be around $2900 with what you're talking about they want.

I see how the big guys can do it cheaper with all of that eqpmt. but to pick up enough work like this all day everyday has got to be a :censored:

and if it gets too slow? What then?

I was originally thinking Dan was on at $2800. Without seeing how much clearance there is for bringing down the tops in large sections, it's hard to judge whether it will take 2 hours or 6 hours to top them out. I figured 2 guys with boom, chipper and skid steer at a day and a half plus another half day for grinding and final cleanup. Two fairly easy days at $1400/day.

After reading what you other guys said you would do it for, I could see how two guys might get the tree down and cleaned up in one day if there is sufficient room to rig it down in fairly good sized chunks. So, $1400 for the tree and maybe another $150 to grind the stump plus $100 to clean it up and$150 to fill with dirt ($400 total). That would put me at about $1800 also and I do agree with the others that hauling out the sections in 12-14' lengths would be much faster than cutting and stacking so, you might consider that and give the customer a couple of price options - one with cutting and stacking and one with complete removal of both logs and brush.

Looks like a pretty easy removal though assuming those lines are not in the midst of things as you say. that would add another element to the job.

From the pics I'd assume my crew could do it in a good day. 3 guys, no bucket. The most time consuming portion would be cutting and moving the wood. The HO seriously wants 36" rounds left? Must be ambitious. Would I need to rent a dingo to move the wood or is it not going too far/up stairs/through tiny walkways, etc. I'd do $1750 to put it down, chip it up, cut it to length and grind. Clean up of grindings is extra and I need more info on the treachery involved in moving the wood to the backyard before I can even begin to quote that portion.
