$270. to reduction prune with no cleanup, ~$450 with.

but species--N red oak?-- and root issues in mind, it may not last that long if no root work is done, or even if some is.

re soil and seed after grinding, what about sticking another tree back in? small tree like redbud would fit well maybe.

anyone in the neighborhood want some nice boards? looks like a portabl emill could salvage value out of that thing.

No no, silly, its a takedown.

Just joking brother but the one side over the wires is dead and the other parts of the tree have considerable dieback.

Haul the grindings, add dirt, seed, fert+straw?

Add $500.00 to do it right.

sounds like a red oak i just looked at yesterday; one streak of rot on one side of the trunk, but no hope of codit. It's like the whole subgenus is throwing in the towel.

what is killing those red oaks everywhere? :looser:

i was kinda kidding about the pruning quote, but some folks like to buy a few years for whatever reason. surely not kidding about the milling or the replanting. Or carve the trunk into something both neighbors will enjoy, then plant small trees on either side. Grape/vine trellis? Apple trees maybe. :food:
