Holzfforma G388 Blue Thunder, will cut with it soon. seems to not have some of the quirks the kit had like the cowl side screw behind the handle.

I dug through my parts and came up with more than I needed to fix the throttle. It pays to have parts for your saws on hand at all times. You just gotta keep them organized. Lol

Anyone had a bar oil leak yet? I fixed the throttle and found its resting place soaked in oil. Late this afternoon I took a look, at first I thought I recalled an oring was on the pump wheel and if so it was missing, I found oil covering a lot of the lower area but the sump where the oiler sits was fairly dry and it was tighten down, so I don't think its leaking from the gasket. I looked at the ipl and it was not clear I think not at this point, I could look at my 380 to remind myself. It does show a sealing ring and that is present, still the sealing ring could be leaking and that would make a mess. I was on a ladder on some big trees most of the day and I just had to set it aside until I felt like looking closer. maybe something will show tomorrow. usually its more evident in saws like 660/440, like a bad hose. For the amount of oil I bet its the sealing ring or something unusual. There was a big drop of oil on the end of the pump wheel. If oil is seeping that way I wonder if its capable of that much output. It cuts, more oil would be on the chain if it was not leaking.

they had done a good assembly job on that side, only side I have seen upclose so far, when I get it fixed will check out the rest..

I used the saw today for a large part of the day. Also used a ms180, my ms660 and my ms192t as needed.

The 388 idled perfectly as it waited it's turn. It ran perfectly when I was bucking. Odd thing I never looked at the oiler after putting it back together so I will have to rely on the cardboards appearance in the morning.

I don't think there is any difference in weight between the kit 380 and the 388. I suspect a difference in the 660. But by the time I put it up I was convinced of the feel on the 388 and it cut off every time.

I did not have a camera with me, I regretted that because I wanted to show how well the blue shows up in leaves

Going thru shakedown. Runs and cuts.[emoji1696]
Says "381". I had to search for some mention in description, but it does not have the decomp so it's a 380. I really like the size saw. Hope it works out, nice saw. That 18 is too small be careful. 20 or larger from my perspective. Have you looked at carb? Branded? They put a screen in the blue mufflers. I had a 20 on mine today,
