Have heard there is a big hp rayco stumper coming out on tracks, cant find anything on the web other than there small track machine.

Anyone know anything?

When i worked there in 2001-2004 we made a larger track machine, the HydraStumper. T175 and T275. (T is track and the number is the HP). The T275 with the brush cutter/mower would clear an acre of land in half an hour with trees under 18"

I saw this machine at the TCI show - pretty cool. Looks like they took the steel track undercarriage off of their forestry mower and set a 160HP engine on it with a big hydraulic pump.

The machine is totally wireless remote control - no cab or manual controls.

The machine at the show had obviously been out and worked - it wasn't all cleaned up and shined . It may be the only one they have built - don't know about that.

The guys in the booth really didn't know too much about it - couldn't even give me a price.

The machine is really for clearing, with those big steel tracks it could only be used on unimproved sites.

Really was a cool looking machine.

I have heard about it, but have not yet seen any photos or specs. The big Hydra Stumper was just too big, and did not sell in large numbers. They can be found for sale a prices lower than a new Carlton 8015.
This big machine was dropped from the lineup, as well as mnay other machines, a few years ago when Rayco concolidated and downsized their offerings.
I liked my little Rayco Super Jr, and liked Rayco's factory and dealer support. Unfortunately, Rayco fell way behind the curve on new offerings and updated machines. They really have not been very competitive in the stumpgrinder business, but, seem to be attempting a comeback. Time will tell.

@ Mowingman, Now why are you still looking at stumpers? I just read your post from last year where you were going to sell your Carlton and retire. Guess the sawdust just gets in your viens doesn't it?

I did sell my 7015, but then bought a 4012. Yes, I guess stump grinding is in my blood. I have cut back a little, (semiretired??), and am very selective about what jobs I do. I also still like to keep up to date on all the new grinders that come out.

I agree, the product is pretty good, but they lack in keeping up with the competitors in the industry. Service and support is just plain great, we're about an 1 1/2 away from the factory, it's the biggest selling point to me.

My boss's son had a couple of those with the stump grinder head, we used it on a residential job one time, amazing! They took our old teeth from the Super RG50 and put them on that, it had the power to make up for the dullness.

Familiar with Rayco Ron?
