Hi, i found on the page from Michael Oxman this Picture:

Can somebody told me how it works ?
In germany we only use the BigShot with this:

to make high shots

hand held

hmmm, saw this a couple of months ago, where exactly, ...., think it might have been through Fresco. A guy there, if that was the place, was working on a very portable sling shot for placing line in tree. It looked a lot like the one above. You had to shoot the mon fil line and then attach your through bag line, then the rope.

To many devices, I'm going back to levitation.:D

I have seen various products like that marketed. One was on the DVD from Sherrill. They tried using it to set a zip line, but it failed, so they used the BS.

I am gonna stick with the big shot for now, at least until I get the bugs worked outa my rocket pack :D.

hand held on CD

... sure, the guy admitted he didn't know how to use it correctly when it failed to go 200'. And it was a Sherril video, ... cut to that gross "Big Shot". OK, OK, no flames please.:D

And the truth is with the technology today that Big Shot is to BIG to haul around in my Porsche urban tree assault vehicle.

Ok, that is true.

There is plenty of room in my truck for the BS, the groundies can walk:p.

If you didnt mind, then you could the sling shot. However it wouldnt suit me, as I would break the fishin line every through.

I am using 1.75mm zing it now, but I am gonna go up to 2.2mm or spectra next, because it hurts when the zing it breaks and
pops your finger.

I have the BS in my truck all the time. The head sits on the seat, and I have 2 4' poles behind the seat. Do you use 2 4'ers or 1 8'er? Do you carry a pole saw?

your right!

ya, my fingers look like an old toped Norway Maple. The stuff, zing it line, is vicious on your hands.

Yes, I carry a pole saw, one of those that telescope. My associates carry all the , ... -long-, stuff.

I don't know, ..., some how I'm on a bent to become more compact. Even to use physics instead of 'big iron'. At this point for me, cranes, bucket truck, spikes, take all the creative fun out of getting the job done. Maybe a little longer and I still try to be competive.

Guess, my interest is working from basics to arrive at new techniques. I'm not really against 'Big Iron'.

I've got a Laserhawk set up in a similar way. The bags are from New Tribe. I call them chiclets because they look like small pillows.

This setup is much more compact for packing into remote sites. Using Fireline fishing line to set first and then pulling a throwline in then the rope is the way to go.

I believe I did bring that to one of the Fresco demos that I did a while back.

Thanks Tom, yes, that was where I ran into the sling shot, i.e., New Tribe.

Can you say more about it; likes, types of apps, advantages, cost, etc.?

I haven't used it too many times. The line has broken on a couple of sets so I've lost the mini-throwbags. I think that I might just use half inch nuts when I loose all of the bags.

It does send the line high but since the line is nearly invisible up high I have a hard time telling what limb it goes over. The cost and compactness can't be beat. Accuracy is pretty good too. Since the LH has a redirect built in, there is about twice as much power built in to the shot over a more traditional Wrist Rocket.

Strapping the unit on makes for a very secure shot. No wobbling around.

I mounted my real a bit differently but that's neither here nor there.

These are the folks I bought mine from:

If you do buy one get an extra set of rubber bands at the same time.

Throw on a pair of gloves b4 pulling in the line or wrap the zingit around a small stick in the yard - saves the hands and fingers.
