big walnut

Finally took down the Walnut I bid about 9 months ago way out in the country, (Harvard IL) that the HO wanted cheap since it was Walnut.:dizzy: It was about 75 ' tall and over 2 houses,
and of course a satellite dish on the roof...........
As I figured, with a hollow stump (the rot only went about 6' up.) the log wasn't worth the top dollar I usually get.
I decided to trade the wood for the cleanup, and Crowbait, a woodworker I met here on AS rose to the challenge and did an awesome job.
He now has cleaned up several big jobs for me.

Post some pics Dirk of that beautiful wood!
I am also bidding 4 more walnuts across the street.............

He has cleaned up several other big jobs with me since.

Did that walnut have a huge Burl on the trunk, if so that piece wood be worth a few pennies , too a turner ..
 
Nice pics, TS. You the man. I gotta figure out a way to get guys to follow me around and clean up my mess.
