We actually have done several whole trees like that. Matter of fact friday we did a 10" pine about 40ft tall and hung it off a sweetgum behind it. My groundman got a rope crazy high in the sweetgum and when the base was cut the whole shebang starts coming over and one groundie starts freakin out thinking the sweetgum is gonna fall over and I just stood there watching waiting for the tree to stop leaning. it did and we cut the pine from the ground up in 5ft sections and brought it down clean through several dogwoods, azaleas and a jap maple. I love hanging stuff from other trees!
