so since i dont like to try new equipment on the job, time consuming, i went out and tested some new toys.

the big shot. it only took me two shots to get it right where i wanted. first shot was 30' and was more of a feeling out shot. second shot hit money at 50', with plenty of power to spare on pull and flight. this is going to be an awesome tool!

the line tamer...... SUCKS. it didnt thread one inch of throwline for me, had to stuff it all... im thinking my line is to thick, and i will get some smaller from sherrill monday.

The line tamer is sold in sporting goods stores and is use for fishing line. It might work sporadicaly on some of the thinner throw lines but don't count on it.
I can't beleive it is still available and marketed for tree work. What is next? A mechanical friction hitch? That will be the day.

What Big shot did you get? I am thinking about the deluxe kit from sherrill.

i got the 2 4' poles and the head, deluxe kit is bogus, you dont need it. like the line tamer lol. im gonna give sherrill a piece of something if i dont find a line to go thru it....

the big shot really is great...... BUT its the stuffing of all that throwline that gets me. thats why i got the line tamer.......
