McCulloch Chain Saws

I have to put that sucker on a scale but with the bar and chain installed that SOB feels like it's approaching 30lbs.

Luckily the wife has forgiven me, no need to cuddle the 450, good thing because those felling dogs are sharp.

Still has the flapperdoodle chain break? Would have thought it would have had the PM 355/365/375 one.

A good friend and fellow collector put that one together with parts he'd accumulated. I provided a few elements as well. Artwork is an adaptation of the Lockheed skunk works...I was petitioning for Pepe Le Pew.

got the black parts shot today. a little glossy as still wet, but it should tone down to a satin finish.

Son-in-law just moved to Kissimmee they work in Orlando. He's an Air Force Recruiter.

thanks Mark. looked the black parts over this morning and they came out great. just finished the yellow. it's pretty glossy while wet also but will hopefully tone down a bit. used an automotive urethane on the yellow parts. def not the dark yellow of the Partner version.

I'm on the gulf coast about an hour and a half north of Tampa. Kissimmee is about the same distance east of me.

put some pretty thick rubber on the top and side handles. I don't think the side handles originally came with rubber on them but seemed like a good idea. what a wrestling match the top handle was, with 2 curves.

Fully assembled...minus a few small things like a new air filter, but nonetheless the 450 is together.

Definitely not a show queen... but ready for action.

I might slap on a generic McCulloch sticker from eBay.

Frank - the closer you get to good old McCulloch Super Pro yellow, the better looking that PM1000 will become.

Before McCulloch started manufacturing their own chainsaws, McCulloch Motors was making engines for Reed Prentice so I guess this sort of qualifies for the McCulloch thread.
