Sadly enough the translation is really good, and the text says the the same in the "home version". Checked the German version as well, and it's the same wording too.

I really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt (and I'm a Stihl man). Whoever writes their ad copy needs a 3120XP bar upside the head!

And for the cover, isn't that what happens when your'e on the other side of the world from the factory, 'cos mine is right...

 :ices_rofl:

I think you're onto something there. My Stihl catalog isn't upside down since they have a factory in the US!!!

I dug out that catalog. Turns out it's the 2005 catalog. It's blue with "Great experience" below the Husqvarna logo. Upon opening the catalog cover you're supposed to see a beautiful two-page panoramic mountain scene with a climber way up a big stick. The top's falling away at about a 30deg angle.

When opening the back cover you're supposed to see a two-page nightime shot of a snowbound two story house all lit up, with a Christmas-lighted tree to the right of the house.

With my catalog I open it up to find a blue sky with the top of said tree 'falling into' the far right corner of the picture...but with an upside-down night shot of half of a snowbound house on the right side...

Opening the back of my catalog reveals an upside-down picture of said tree climber on said big stick...along with half of a snowbound house in a night shot with an outside Christmas tree (right side up)! :dizzy:

When my wife comes back from the mother-in-law's house next week I'll have my digital camera back and will show you a pic!!!

If I try really hard to push the meaning of the word "powerful" to it's farthest limit, it might be that they don't mean pure horse power-power but the whole thing as a concept: light weight and lots of hp's and easy handling, together making a package that are more "powerful" than other packages previously presented by a saw manufacturer. That would work in both the Husky Mother Tongue and the Queens American English. Can't vouch for German though.

But I really dislike having to interpret copy like that. When you write something that can be interpreted in two different ways, with the hope that people will interpret it the "wrong" way, but masquerading it by the fact that you can point to the "correct way" if somebody complaints, it's just another way of lying. But I guess the only thing that ever stops people from doing this nowadays, is if they just can't come up with something clever enough...

Yeah, you see, I thought I had it figured...:biggrinbounce2:

Do that, it sounds as if that needs to be seen to be fully enjoyed... :Eye:
