first off, no disrespect to our Florida folks. I was off at the lake this weekend and we went up the hills for a bit of lunch and a drive in the bush, out of nowhere marble sized hail for about 5 minutes with maybe 4 or 5 strong wind gusts. on the drive out a half hour later we encountered a number of fallen over the road trees. one guy had a never sharpened (Husqvarna 136 I think) and a tug-em strap. We cut mostly through a few and yanked the others to get home. Memories indeed.

I once ran into a tornado when cutting a yard. By the time I was back there with my tree gear, the son had his modified Jeep out with the winch. He just put one of the winches onto this pine tree and dragged it into the woods whole. Once he had it in the woods, he simply unhooked the winch and drove right over the trunk to get out. Pretty neat truck.

Robert Plant?

He died at sea in a BOC challenge. That was attributed to the wind too, his boat turtled. BOC 50. Crappy boats for single handing in races.

Good man. His fiance is racing her now.

sorry folks, I was a bit sleepy when I was posting up, the pictures of my drinking buddies can be ighnored, they have been corrected now.

cheers.

Gord.. Totally. just outside Kamloops off the old Todd mountain road towards Sun Peaks. We stayed at a place on Hefley lake, this place is just past the Hitch and Rail then about 20 mins into the woods. We call it secret lake but I havent a clue what the real name is.

Only marble sized hail? We had some grapefruit sized chunks here last month. The wind and hail have been blowing in a good part of the summer. Usually it blows over in about 15 minutes and then its clear again. Have spent a few times hunkered up about 50 ft in a tree because I didnt want to come down and then just have to ascend again 10 minutes later. Some of that stuff really rattles your teeth when it bounces off your helmet. Its all good though.
