It was like a month old. It ripped where the pouch connects to the rubber. Both sides. My old one lasted for a few years.
I had to fork over another 32 bucks and was told maybe if I send it back they might replace it.

mine is at least 4 years old, and looks like it'll break the next time it gets pulled, but it doesn't.
of course it will now, that I bragged on it.:dizzy:
figures the new ones are cheaper.:(

I was working in a Ford dealership when The Firestone Recall came through, I figured its something like that. Cheap SOB'S. I doubt it had 20 shots on it this time.

My guess is that there's nothing wrong with the tubing. The problem is when the pouch is attached to the tubing, there's a few ways to screw it up and weaken the tubing, someone had a bad shift at the slingshot factory. Also guessing that the one they send you to replace will last much longer.

every time i get one..............

it seems like it's lightly different than the last.seems like a good one comes on it when you buy it new but the replacements are cheap crap.

Dry

Is there any chance these things are drying out?

For instance with the outside the gas tank part of a fuel line on a saw it is recommended that it be lightly oiled.

I mounted mine on an aluminum pole and the pouch started tearing on the first five to seven practice shots. I figured out it was caused by the pouch catching on the bottom of the big shot head, so I used electrical tape to form a smooth transition from the pole to the head and the problem went away. Just a thought, but the pouch is hauling butt at that point, and if there is a lip, it will sometimes catch and cause problems.

My bigshot

My bigshot broke the other day right where the pouch connects, so I squared up the ends, bent them over about an inch with the loops to the pouch hooked, and ran two zip ties around...cinched them down tight! pulled it as far as I could and it held, so we will see? I have to use it tommorrow.
