I live in one of the areas in California that had record-breaking fires last summer. Due to the smoke, the leaves on the native Blue oaks started to turn brown. (Sinescience?) Now, those same trees are covered with both green and brown leaves and haven't lost them as they normally would. What is the scientific explanation for this phenomenom, and what will they due when the sap begins to rise? Was there an abcision hormon released? Will the leaves be forced off as Pin oaks do:help: :help: ?
